Heue präsentieren wir Ihnen je zwei Aufnahmen bekannter Broadway Musicals oder deren Hollywood Musiklfilmen. Die ausgewählten Nummern zählen zu den bekanntesten Melodien aus diesen Produktionen.

The Most Happy Fellow erzählt die Geschichte von eines Italienischen Winzers und seinen Traubenpflückern im Nappa Valley, California.

Show Boat geht zurück zur Glanzzeit der Heckraddampfer auf dem Mississippi, und den Menschen die am und auf dem „Ol‘ Man River“ lebten.

Oklahoma zeigt die Rivalität zwischen eingesessenen Viehzüchtern und zugewanderten Bauern. Durch die Romanze der Bauerntochter und des Ranchers gelingt die Versöhnung.

In Finians Rainbow versucht der mit seiner Tochter Sharon aus Irland eingewanderte Finian sein Glück in „Missitucky“ (Fiktiver Staat – Mississippi – Kentucky zu finden.) Dabei entsteht eine Liebesgeschichte zwischen seiner Tochter und einem jungen Bauernsohn

The melodies below will remind you of some of the great Broadway Musicals or their Hollywood Film Productions. I elected to play them back-to-back so as to include as many melodies in one hour as possible. This short synopsis may help you “put you in the picture” of each of the plays.

The Most Happy Fellow tells the story of and the romances of an Italian grape farmer and his grape pickers in Nappa Valley, California

Show Boat goes back to the time when hundreds of “Show Boats” steamed up and down the “Ol’ Man River”, revealing the live stories of the folks who live on and along the Mississippi.

Oklahoma shows the rivalry between the ranchers and the settlers. The romance between a young cowboy and a farmer’s daughter brings the “Farmers and the Cowboys” a little closer together.

Finian’s Rainbow: An immigrant from Ireland, his daughter and a leprechaun are looking for and find their happiness in Missitucky.

Kiss Me Kate is one of many musical productions of Shakepear’s „Taming of the Schrew“.

South Pacific brings back memories of World War II and James A. Michener’s great story of a plantation owner and a young US navy nurse.

The Great Carus: The life of this great tenor serves as background to present a modern time time great tenor: Mario Lanza.

Call Me Madam: A girl grows up on a dirt farm and becomes idle rich, when oil is discovered on her father’s land. She advances to be the “Hostess with the Mostes” in Washington DC.
